Complex Endorsement Training 

At AeroSchool, we provide Complex Endorsement Training to help pilots gain the necessary skills and certifications to operate complex aircraft systems.

 

A key focus of this training is the use of variable pitch propellers, essential for advanced aircraft operation but are now becoming more commonplace within light aircraft due to their efficiencies.

Variable Pitch (VP) Propeller Endorsement

Our Aquila A211 aircraft features a variable pitch propeller controlled by a constant speed unit (CSU), which allows pilots to adjust the propeller blade angle for optimal engine performance across different phases of flight. Mastering this system is critical for flying more advanced, complex aircraft.

During this training, you will learn:

  • How to operate a variable pitch propeller, including managing manifold pressure and RPM to ensure peak engine performance.

  • The benefits of a variable pitch propeller for improving efficiency, control, and overall aircraft performance.

  • Techniques for optimizing propeller settings during takeoff, cruise, and landing.

  • Emergency procedures involving propeller and engine management.

UK Type Ratings and Complex Endorsements

In the UK, Type Ratings and Licence Endorsements are regulated under FCL.010 and FCL.700 of Annex I (Part-FCL). AeroSchool provides the necessary training to help pilots obtain these endorsements and operate complex aircraft confidently.

Additional Complex Endorsements

In addition to variable pitch propeller training, AeroSchool offers endorsements for other complex systems, available exclusively for pilots flying their own private aircraft. Our instructors can provide training and endorsements for the following:

  • Single-engine piston (land) with retractable undercarriage (RU): Learn the operation and handling of retractable landing gear.

  • Single-engine piston (land) with turbo- / super-charged engines (T): Master the operation of engines with enhanced performance systems.

  • Single-engine piston (land) with cabin pressurisation (P): Understand the systems and procedures for flying aircraft with pressurised cabins.

  • Single-engine piston (land) with tail wheels (TW): Train in the unique handling and ground operations of tailwheel aircraft.

  • Single-engine piston (land) with electronic flight instrument system (EFIS): Gain proficiency with glass cockpit systems and modern flight instruments.

  • Single-engine piston (land) with single lever power control (SLPC): Learn to manage power and propeller settings using a single-lever control system.

 

Note: These additional endorsements are available for private aircraft only, as AeroSchool does not provide these aircraft types for hire or training.
